Bushido Stalled

Due to a dose of the condition known as bad take out, I have kind of stalled this week on doing anything Bushido related.  Here is the grand some of what I have done…….

Daughter of the Empire??

For those of you who enjoy fantasy novels, may get the reference to Daughter of the Empire.  For those not aware, do a quick Google search of it.  You will now see why, the armour is green; despite my initial idea being Black/Red.  There will be better pictures to follow, as well as pictures up to this point; but I just wanted to post something to show they haven’t been forgotten.

Oh and the models for the Breast Cancer Brawl, will be posted tomorrow. Check out Hendybadgers blog soon, for pictures of all the entries into the competition.

Sisters of No Mercy

It’s only Tuesday, but I am about 90% done with Feora now.  I have to admit that pink was never a colour I thought about using, now though I am thinking of other models I would love to paint pink.

It’s been such great fun doing these models, to know they will go towards helping others; makes it even better.  So here is a couple of photo’s taken with my phone.

Painting Pink Update

Things have gone better than expected, Sea Witch is finished; with just minor basing to finish.

I’ll be speaking to David later this week, to arrange pick up of the model he is donating.  With luck, I can have them both painted and sent off; within the next week.  In the meantime, I have been putting my Withershadow Combine together, ready for priming sometime this week.  Not the best photo, but gives you an idea of what I have done.  It’s shiny because of the varnish, this has since been dulled with Army Painter Anti-Shine.  I’ll be adding another layer of gloss, then anti shine; once I have painted the front arc markings.  This will be to seal the base and give the model an extra coat of protection.

Picture doesn’t do it justice, the face is a lot clearer and neater than it looks on this picture.  The prizes aren’t my goal here, it is with the thought of making money for the charity.  I hope someone likes it enough to give it a good home.  In some ways, I will be sad to see it go; I kind of like it myself.

DJ Complete – 8/8/11

I finally got it finished last night about midnight, with the first coat of gloss varnish within 5 minutes; the next an hour later.  I’d need to check the posts, but I figure I have been working on this for about a month now.  It’s been a long, hard month; but I think the rewards have been worth it.  For those lucky enough to be in Kirkcaldy at Kingdom of Adventure next Saturday (20th), you will get to see this on the table at their tournament.  For those not able to see it up close and personal, hope you enjoy the pictures.
