The final tally and photos of the day are now up on Hendybadgers blog. I’ll not spoil it, so head over to his pages and find out for yourself.
Check out Hendybadgers blog soon for a full report, but for now; I can happily announce that they raised a total of £466.51 on the day. That is a fantastic amount and all credit to Ian for organising everything. A big thanks also to everyone who donated something, played in the tournament or donated monetarily to this wonderful cause.
A big thank you also to these companies/groups, who donated prizes for the tournament -
- Wayland Games
- Portable Warfare
- KR Multicases
- Guts & Gears Podcast
- Florian Stitz
- North Cornwall Beasts and Bionics
- Delabole Spar Stores
- Triple Helix Games
I am not the type of blogger, to post up every bit of news from Privateer Press; or the gaming world for that matter. However I will post up things, that I find interesting or feel they are worthy of being passed on.
Today’s PP Insider from Jen Ikuta, is one I would like people to read please. Cancer is a faceless killer, which doesn’t care who it strikes. However, through research and care, it can be defeated; but that takes money. At the top of my blog, there is a page for NCBB Breast Cancer Brawl; this Saturday. Even though the event is over 500 miles away, I have done what I could to help out. It may only be painting a couple of models, but it could potentially mean helping someone to survive this debilitating condition.
Privateer Press support this cause every year, along with Foodmachine; to raise money or donations for these charities. All I would ask, is that you find out if your local shop/store is doing an event and help out anyway you can. With the way things have fallen this year, it is a little late to be organising anything. Come next year though, there will be a full on Hardcore fund-raising event for Breast Cancer Brawl and Foodmachine.
I wish Hendybadger and everyone involved on Saturday, all the best and lets hope you raise lots of money for a good cause.
Due to a dose of the condition known as bad take out, I have kind of stalled this week on doing anything Bushido related. Here is the grand some of what I have done…….
For those of you who enjoy fantasy novels, may get the reference to Daughter of the Empire. For those not aware, do a quick Google search of it. You will now see why, the armour is green; despite my initial idea being Black/Red. There will be better pictures to follow, as well as pictures up to this point; but I just wanted to post something to show they haven’t been forgotten.
Oh and the models for the Breast Cancer Brawl, will be posted tomorrow. Check out Hendybadgers blog soon, for pictures of all the entries into the competition.
Full details of the event, have already been posted on this blog. This is specifically about the Painting Pink contest they are holding.
While I personally haven’t suffered the effects of cancer, a member of my family has. It can be hard to deal with and coping with the loss that sometimes happens, is even harder. I am lucky in that they were detected early and treated quickly.
So to help out with this event is something special to me. I recently bought a Satyxis Raider Sea Witch, which I was going to go with some Raiders I had ordered. Due to delays, I am holding off on that. So rather than waste the time or the model, Battle Dragon Painting (aka Me); will be painting and donating the model to the contest. I’ll post up details of the auctions, when I know of them; so we can make the lives of others suffering cancer that little easier.
