Models Painted….*faints*

Yea I know, me actually showing painted models is something of a shock; so I will lead you in gently with a couple of pictures the My Little Nightmare Ponies I was doing.

Those of you who know me on the PP forums, may have seen my Nightmare avatar:

Well my two daughters and wife wanted one as well, so just like mine I bought the MLP toys from the supermarket….and changed them slightly….

The white one is for my daughter in Canada, the other pink one is for my daughter here in Scotland.

This one was for my wife, yes those are Legion of Everblight Harrier wings, trust my wife to want bells and whistles on her pony.

Purple seemed to be the colour of choice for daughter in Canada and my wife, while the other daughter wanted flames and Gay Pride rainbow on it. Painting rubberised plastic, is a bitch to paint; so please try this at home; only if you want to go insane….here’s the results of my insanity. Painting Progress

I’ve been in a painting slump for a long while now, having no inspiration or desire to take up the brushes.  Thankfully though this week, thanks to a throat infection of all things, I am back to painting and putting models together.

With the promise to my wife to finish her model first, I am cracking on with that; which is starting to come together.

While this is being done, I have also been putting Asphyxious the Hellbringer and Vociferon together; which is testing my patience a little with Vociferon’s staff/banner.

Something Different

Whenever I go away to convention or tournament, I am always on the look out for things for my wife.  Her main passions within the fantasy realms are Fairies and Angels.

So when I was at the Games Expo a couple of years ago, I bought and painted her the Bad Fairy model.  Below is my version, in the colours my wife likes most – Purple!

So when I was at the ETC’s last weekend, I naturally drifted around the store to find anything I could take back for her.  Eventually I found another Freebooter Miniatures fairy, this time it was the Fairy of the Woods.

Perhaps it is the colours used, but I didn’t like this model when I first saw it.  The face looks totally wrong and like it belongs on a china doll, not a woodland fairy.  Having started on it though, I am pleased to see that the face and general casting is very clean and shouldn’t look horrid when finished.  I’m going to paint the wings separate, but this is where I am at after about 45 minutes work.

Kirai’s Friends

To expand the Kirai/Oriental theme of my crew, I bought Jaakuna Ubume a couple of weeks ago.  Finally got her finished on Friday, where she got her first tournament.  It was also a good opportunity for me to take some photo’s so I hope you like her.  I am really pleased with how it turned out, especially the little girl, who triggers the Uncontrolled Crying in Jaakuna.

Tiger Jacks

As Flames of War is the other popular game in Worlds at War, I get to hear mention of Tiger tanks all the time.  Well not to be outdone, I decided to put a WM/H spin on the Tiger tank; by painting my Khador (Tanks) jacks in tiger stripes.

Ok so Tiger tanks weren’t actually painted with tiger stripes; but you have to admit it looks different. Hopefully I can have them finished in time for Carronade, where I have been asked to demo WM/H as a member of Livingston Battleground. They are bound to make people stop, even if it is just to admire the paint job.
